In my latest video on “Nobodyz Opinion,” I shared something special that has become a yearly Halloween ritual for me: watching the 2011 short film “Maniac.” This film isn’t just something I watch for funโit’s a “creative seed” that planted the spark for my own approach to projects and how I think about content creation.

The Film: A Disturbing Halloween Drop
The film I’m talking about is “Maniac,” which dropped on Halloween night way back in 2011. It was directed by Shia LaBeoufโwho also wrote the screenplayโand stars Kid Cudi and Cage.
The plot follows a documentary crew as they trail these two serial killers (Cudi and Cage) during their gruesome night. Itโs shot in this gritty, chilling black-and-white style. I said in the video, “They killin’ everybody… no words, no nothing, just death.” It’s not just random violence, though; they get “very creative” in their methods. Itโs an intense, unsettling watch, and the ending scene where they’re eating breakfast with the line, “The guilty one isn’t the one who commits the sin,” is just powerful.
My Creative Spark
This short film is so much more than just a horror flick to me. I seriously credit it as a major source of inspiration:
“It is the creative seed… that planted the creative spark in what I do. Um, how I view things, how I approach projects.”
I used to be heavy into making my own short films a while back. I was proud of them, even though I had no formal knowledgeโI just picked up a camera and had ideas. “Maniac” is a perfect example of that kind of raw, driven creative energy, and it became a benchmark for how I want to approach my own work, from how I film things to how I structure my ideas.

Make it Your Own Tradition
I want you all to check this out. Seriously, watch it, and make it your own tradition for Halloween night. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it and then come back to the channel. Let’s talk about it! I love connecting over stuff like this.
If youโre looking for a dark, deeply creative source of inspiration this Halloween season, I highly suggest you seek out “Maniac.”
