This started for me a few years ago and YouTube was showing me random web manga. I really started to get into OP manga and anime. I stumbled upon a video saying that “Solo Leveling” is the best mobile manga out there. I do my research and found this free manga on my phone. I spent the next 2 weeks reading and finishing this manga. Was actually my first manga I started and ran through start to finish. After I was done I thought to myself. What’s next? To my surprised I seen a trailer on Crunchyroll for the anime. Seemed so far away and at that same time I was scared that it wouldn’t meet my expectations. The anime was elite no filler. This could go bad. Then the first episode dropped.
A lot manga that transition to anime don’t stick the manga as much as they should sometimes. Solo gave me the feeling I was reading the manga again. The animation kept the integrity of what I read. It preserved the drawings I saw. Not to give too much away but Solo Leveling is about “Sung Jin-Woo” who is labeled the weakest Hunter. Hunters are people who fight monsters who close portals which open in the world. Sung went on a mission that would change his life forever. He ends up being the only hunter in the world that can level up. 1st season you see his change and how he learns to deal with his new abilities. 2nd season you see everything he is doing to become stronger but also how he is changing personality wise.
In my opinion this is an elite anime. No plot holes to my knowledge. Only thing I worry about is pacing. I think they could’ve slowed it down even more. I think so far they have gone through about 68 chapters or so. I already know how this anime ends but it doesn’t stop me form watching it every week. Has everything from good animation, multiple storylines from different characters and overall a good ass story. If you haven’t watched you have to go ahead and put this on your list. ‘Just watch some battle on YouTube I’m telling you I haven’t felt this way about an anime since Naruto Shippuden. I’m convinced whatever Chugong creates next I’m watching or reading.
What’s your favorite anime right now? Where do you rank Solo Leveling?
