The release of the new movie Alien Romulus has been nothing short of marketing genius. Live models in New York City with face huggers attached to them is golden. Gives an anticipation on how intense this movie will be compared to all the others.

I caught the trailer, something that wasn’t intended, I was at the movies, and remembered an article I glanced that which mentioned this movie would have a different feel than the rest. It made me think of the line of games that were released. More of a ‘shoot-em-all’ type feel when the face huggers broke out the room and started mobbing.

I feel like the movie will speak for itself but what I wanted to touch on is the cinematic timeline of all the films. The first film came out in the 70s and since then there has been 9 total. With franchises this long, it’s not uncommon for the timeline to be out of order and this one is one of those.

Shout out to the movie geeks who pay attention to the small details like this to give us this insight. I feel like I need to rewatch them all now to see if there are any details in the movies themselves, that reveal the year or any connection to the next. I know for sure that Alien Covenant and Prometheus have that connection.

I have been a fan of this franchise since I saw the first, I have seen them all and got a tattoo of the Xenomorph. Romulus will get eyes on for sure. Shout out to Ridley Scott for giving us this cinematic history.
